On Saturday 8th February a group of students were taken to Shrewsbury Town Football Club for a match day experience.  They watched Shrewsbury Town play MK Dons football league one match. All of the pupils were a credit to the academy and had a fantastic day.

They had the opportunity to go for a tour around the stadium where they visited the home changing rooms, dug outs and more. This was followed by a small training session with some of the Shrewsbury Town coaches. One of the highlights of the day was meeting the Shrewsbury Town squad as they arrived at the stadium. The pupils then waved a large flag in the centre circle as the two teams entered the pitch and finally at half time the pupils played a small sided game on the pitch in front of 6000 fans.

Some of the students said “it was the best day of their life”

“I have never been to a football match before, I loved it.”

All in all it was a fantastic day and the pupils, parents and staff really enjoyed it.
