Futures 16-25 Years Provision

Our new provision Futures, in connection with Shrewsbury College, opened on the 10th November 2014. 

Our students with moderate learning difficulties will be based in this centre full-time and will have opportunities to gain accreditations linked to areas such as hospitality and catering, motor vehicle maintenance, construction and many more.  A number of social enterprise businesses will be based at Futures which will provide work related learning for the students.

Our students with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties will also benefit from this new development as they will have timetabled sessions in the centre and will partake in sensory vocational sessions such as candle and soap making.

Our work experience programme is continuing to grow and we are increasing our number of local and national employer links.  All students across the department partake in transition sessions with local and specialist colleges and we offer independent careers and education information advice and guidance to young people and their families in order to make transition as successful as possible.
