The West Midlands SEND Forum chose Severndale to host their meeting last week, which was attended by Headteachers from all around the West Midlands.
Josef and Kathleen, students from Futures, were asked to meet and greet the visitors in reception; both did an excellent job of welcoming everyone and escorting them up to our conference room. Ben and Jo, also from Futures, prepared and served a delicious breakfast for everyone at the meeting; Jo’s granola was a big hit and both students used their catering skills delivering fantastic customer service. The students also told the Forum about what they were studying, and how they were hoping to use their skills to get a job on leaving Futures. The Forum were later taken on a tour of Futures by Kathleen. We would like say a huge thank you to our students for their hard work and support, and for being such great ambassadors for Severndale and Futures on the day – well done!
The West Midlands SEND Forum is a newly established group with representation on the SEND National Forum to shape, research and advocate practice of special schools and organisations in our region. Severndale are on the Steering Group for this network.
