One of our Futures students Scott has made us all extremely proud.  Recently he went for an interview for a job in a restaurant as a pot washer at weekends. Whilst at Futures Scott has developed amazing skills and confidence which have helped him to be successful with his application and interview and led to him being offered this job.  Scott had been supported at Futures to prepare for his interview, he did enjoy this experience but was still quite nervous.  During his interview he was asked why he wanted the job Scott said, “I want a purpose in life to enable me to gain my independence”.  Following his interview Scott said “I am very proud of what I have achieved and very honoured to have a job that I will enjoy.  I am going to represent our great Academy by showing employers around the country that people who have additional needs can still be employed with the correct support.  I hope that I have encouraged other students within the Academy to work towards getting a job and gaining more independence for their future.

We are looking forward to hearing more about how Scott gets on when he starts his new job, we’ll keep you posted.
