Nine students from Year 11 in the Upper Link department and Mary Webb visited Liverpool on our first residential of the year.

Staying in a hostel in the centre of Liverpool, they went shopping for supplies to make their packed lunches and hosted a pizza evening enjoying the independence of being able to make their own food.

The group went on a site seeing bus tour and they got off at the World Museum to see the natural history exhibits. Taking part in many interactive activities, from looking at butterflies under microscopes to handling the fossils. They dressed up in ancient armour and pretended to have a battle. The site seeing tour continued to the amazing Liverpool Cathedral and then on to the Merseyside Maritime Museum, by the docks and harbour.

They enjoyed an evening eating out at TGI Fridays and going to the cinema and there was even time for a bit of shopping at Liverpool One and the souvernir shops at the docks! They enjoyed some down time socialising and playing games and they were also tested on their local knowledge taken in from the sight seeing opportunities with a before bed quiz…which the girls won!

The winter weather did not stop them enjoying their trip and a great time was had by all. The staff were amazingly proud of the group.
